Canine Bowen Therapy
What is Canine Bowen Therapy ?
Bowen Therapy is a gentle, precise bodywork technique that supports your dog’s body to release tension, reduce pain, and restore functional movement.
At Bowen Alive, each dog receives an individual assessment and tailored treatment based on their presentation, history, and needs.
Treatments are performed in your dog’s familiar home environment, allowing them to remain relaxed and responsive throughout the session.
Gentle, clinical Bowen Therapy to support your dog’s comfort, mobility, and nervous system. Provided in your dog’s home environment across Ipswich.
How Bowen Therapy can help your dog
Bowen Therapy may assist dogs experiencing:
• Stiffness or slowing with age
• Muscle tension or tightness
• Recovery following injury
• Mobility changes
• Difficulty jumping, running, or climbing stairs
• Behavioural changes related to discomfort or nervous system stress
• Anxiety, tension, or difficulty settling
• General maintenance and wellbeing
Many owners notice their dog becomes more comfortable, relaxed, and free in their movement following treatment.
What to expect during your dog’s session
Each session includes:
• Observation of posture and movement
• Gentle palpation of muscles and soft tissue
• Bowen Therapy treatment
• Recommendations if appropriate
• Treatment notes and patient record
Sessions are calm and unforced. Bowen Therapy works with your dog’s nervous system, not against it.
Most dogs become deeply relaxed during treatment.
★★★★★
“Sarah was so gentle and calm with our Greyhound. He became more comfortable with each session, and after three treatments we noticed a big improvement in his movement and overall relaxation.
He now seems much more at ease in his body. Sarah handled him beautifully and we highly recommend Bowen Alive.”
— James, Raceview

Where treatments take place
Bowen Therapy for dogs is provided as a mobile service, allowing your dog to remain comfortable in their own home.
This avoids the stress and muscular guarding often seen in unfamiliar environments.
Bowen Alive does not treat animals at the clinic location.
Travel and regional bookings
Bowen Therapy for dogs is provided in your home. Travel fees apply based on distance.
• Up to 15 km — $15
• 15–25 km — $25
• 25–35 km — $35
Group bookings in regional areas are welcomed. When multiple dogs are treated at the same location, the travel fee is shared, allowing owners to divide a single travel charge between bookings.
This makes on-property treatment more accessible for dogs located outside the immediate Ipswich area.
